What Decoration Methods are Available for POD?

Below are the codes you can use in your POD import sheet and and their means along with use cases.

🛠️ Decoration Methods Guide for POD Products

When customizing your products, we use a variety of decoration methods to ensure the best quality and finish. Here’s a quick guide to help you understand what each method means and when it’s used:

LE – Laser Engraving

  • Best For: Stainless steel drinkware
  • Description: A precise, permanent method that etches your design directly into the metal surface. It creates a sleek, professional look without using ink or color.

EM – Embroidery

  • Best For: Apparel, hats, and bags
  • Description: Your design is stitched directly into the fabric using colored threads. This method gives a premium, textured finish and is ideal for logos and text.

HS – Helix Printing

  • Best For: Curved drinkware (e.g., tumblers, bottles)
  • Description: A full-color printing method that wraps your design around curved surfaces. Perfect for vibrant, all-over designs on drinkware.

DG – Direct to Garment (DTG) / Direct to Film (DTF)

  • Best For: Apparel, especially cotton or high-cotton blends
  • Description:
    • DTF (Direct to Film): Used for garments with over 80% cotton. It prints your design onto a film which is then heat-pressed onto the fabric.
    • DG (Direct to Garment): Often used interchangeably with DTF, but may refer to direct printing on cotton fabrics. Please check with us if you're unsure which applies to your item.

💡 Note: DTF is becoming the preferred method for most apparel due to its versatility and durability.

HT – Heat Transfer

  • Best For: Apparel (when embroidery is not used)
  • Description: A design is printed on a special transfer paper and then heat-pressed onto the garment. Ideal for detailed or colorful designs on various fabric types.

DP – DigiBrite

  • Best For: Flat surface objects (e.g., notebooks, coasters)
  • Description: A full-color digital print method that produces vibrant, high-resolution images on flat items.
